BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Position Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) identifies, qualifies, and engages prospective ophthalmology and optometry customers. This in-office role drives early-stage sales momentum and schedules qualified opportunities for Clinical Product Specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound outreach via phone, email, and digital platforms, with a structured ramp-up during training and an expected target of ~75+ daily touches once fully trained.
- Qualify prospects and schedule meetings for Clinical Product Specialists.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide territory insights.
- Build working knowledge of Merakris’ products and the ocular market.
- Provide feedback on customer interactions and resources needed.
- Participate in training, internal meetings, and select optometry and ophthalmology conferences as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of sales experience; healthcare or technology preferred.
- Strong communication skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
